She was in action for 120 minutes, which ended 1-1, as Benfica required penalties to edge Sporting and claim their second consecutive Cup title.

After Francisca Nazareth gave Benfica the lead in the 55th minute, Andrea Norheim equalised for Sporting Lisbon in the 73rd minute but Sporting missed all their spot kicks while Benfica scored all three penalties to win the game.

Ucheibe took to social media on Thursday to celebrate her eighth title for the club.

“God did it again! all glory to you lord. To all the Benfiquista family thank you for your endless support as always, much love. Work continues, let’s go Benfica,” she wrote on her X account.

She was also instrumental during the semi-final, scoring the decisive spot kick which propelled them to the final ahead of Sporting Braga.

Ucheibe, who recently extended her contract until 2026, is now expected to return to action when Benfica takes on SCU Torreense in a league fixture scheduled for Sunday.

Ucheibe represented Nigeria at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and starred in all four games as the Falcons reached the last 16.

Her impressive performances earned her recognition as one of Nigeria’s finest players at the tournament as well as being ranked fourth among the top seven tacklers at the showpiece.
