Stop victimising perceived enemies, PDP members tell Adeleke

It urged the governor to also put an end to the marginalisation of some members; stressing that, such an attitude would not help the government or the party.
This was contained in a communique issued after a one-day meeting of the group, obtained in Osogbo on Sunday.
Also in the communique signed by the ex-Osun PDP acting chairmen, Mr. Ojo Williams, Mr. Tunde Adewoyin, Ogungboyega, Remi Arogundade, and three others, the group commended a chieftain of the party in the state, Prince Dotun Babayemi, for his selflessness and contributions towards the state and the party.
It further read, “At this point in time, we feel that what is good for the state is for our governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, to eschew partisanship and provide good governance for all and sundry in Osun State. In addition, he should halt the current victimisation and marginalisation of some PDP members that is ongoing in the state.
“If such ugly development currently pervading the party is left unchecked, it may ultimately not augur well for both the government and party in the long run.”
The stakeholders also called for the continuous mobilization of members of the public towards growing the ranks of the PDP, adding that this would make the party more entrenched in the state for future electoral engagements.
Efforts to reach the spokesperson for the governor, Olawale Rasheed, for reaction proved futile.
Calls to his line did not go through and the text message sent to him had not been responded to as of the time of filing this report.
