Gunmen kill Abacha’s daughter in Maiduguri

Gunmen reportedly strangled Mrs. Amma Buwa, the daughter of Abacha, a member of the Borno State House of Assembly, to death in the Gidan Dembe neighbourhood of Maiduguri, the state capital.
The incident, which caused the stagnation of activities in the area, attracted a large crowd of residents who thronged the scene to catch a glimpse of what happened to the daughter of the lawmaker representing Ngala Local Government Area of the state.
This came less than 24 hours after Governor Babagana Zulum ordered the demolition of brothels, shanties, and makeshift bear joints at the Railway Terminus general area. He claimed these unwholesome activities were breeding criminals and other related killings in the Maiduguri metropolis.
A source who spoke with reporters said the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday when Abacha was said to have left the compound for a nearby mosque for prayers.
Abacha, who took the corpse to the police station, said he found her lifeless body in his house with her hand and legs tied behind her back while her two-year-old child was crying beside her.
Meanwhile, a family source of the Abacha’s (name withheld) who shared the news of the incident on his Facebook page said the remains of the deceased would be buried today (Wednesday) morning in Maiduguri.
“Inna lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’un.
“Amma is the daughter of a member representing Ngala at the state House of Assembly.
“The janaiza (burial) will occur at 777 Housing Estate by 10 a.m. in Maiduguri.
“May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace,” he wrote.
However, the Gwange Police Division has reportedly evacuated the corpse to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital for autopsy and investigation.
