Gunmen abduct 25 choir members in Ondo

A total of 25 choir members from the Christ Apostolic Church in Oke Igan, Akure, the Ondo state capital, have been kidnapped by gunmen.
According to reports, they were whisked away by the gunmen around 3 p.m. on Friday while travelling to Ifon in the state’s Ose Council region for a burial service.
According to a church member who talked with reporters, the victims were on their way to a burial ritual for a church member when the kidnappers struck.
According to her, the victims’ vehicle was abandoned on the highway.
When contacted, Funmi Odunlami, the state police command’s spokesperson, stated, “The police were informed that a church bus with the inscription CAC was abandoned around the Elegbeka area, and there are suspicions that the passengers in the vehicle were kidnapped.”
“The police anti-kidnapping squad and other tactical teams have been deployed to the area to rescue the victims and arrest all involved in the crime,” Odunlami added.
