Bus driver knocks down police officer in Anambra

A shuttle bus driver has knocked down a police officer, Anthony Ogbodo in Anambra State.
Though the circumstances surrounding the officer’s death are unknown, it was learned that the incident occurred on Saturday.
Tochukwu Ikenga, the state Police Public Relations Officer, verified this in a statement on Sunday.
According to Ikenga, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ogbodo, a Superintendent of Police, was “killed in a tragic vehicular accident involving his motorcycle and a shuttle bus on Saturday, 16th September, 2023.”
“The driver of the shuttle bus that hit the policeman took him to the hospital in Enugwu Ukwu before he died.”
He stated that the driver had been detained and put into custody while the terrible accident was being investigated.
The police spokesman also refuted social media claims that the Ogbodo’s death was caused by many factors.
He went on to say that the Anambra State Police Command is grieving the officer’s death and expressing condolences to the Deputy Superintendent of Police’s family and loved ones.
According to Ikenga, the Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Adeoye, has pledged that justice will be served quickly in the case.
