Bauchi police kill 10 bandits, rescue 39 kidnapped victims

Following a successful combined security operation known as Operation Sharan Daji, the police in Bauchi State have killed 10 bandits in Yankari Forest and freed 39 hostages from the kidnappers’ camp.
This was revealed in a statement released on Saturday by Ahmed Wakili, the police public relations officer for the Bauchi State Command.
According to Wakili, a preliminary investigation showed that on Thursday, roughly 24 kidnappers broke into the Gaji community.
According to reports, the attackers abducted a group of businesspeople who were leaving the Mararaban Liman Katagum Market and took them to a location known as the Red Mountain in the Yankari Forest.
Chronicle NG gathered that the kidnappers had demanded a ransom of N50 million to free their victims before the Friday rescue operation.
