Bandits kill three in fresh attack on Sokoto village

The police in Sokoto State have confirmed an attack carried out by suspected bandits that killed three people and injured others in the Soro community in the state’s Binji Local Government Area.
While verifying the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in Sokoto, ASP Ahmad Rufai, stated that some gunmen presumed to be bandits launched an attack on the Soro village, but members of the police command, with the assistance of military operations, repelled the attack.
He did, however, claim that the robbers set fire to some houses out of irritation, resulting in the deaths of three occupants and injury to a few others.
According to sources in the afflicted village, the marauders also abducted numerous people and set fire to various locations.
Vigilante groups, according to community sources, carried out a retaliatory attack on the Fulani community, forcing the police commissioner to intervene and establish a dialogue with inhabitants of the impacted districts.
